Budget and Economic impact
The $3 billion budget allotted for
the development and construction of LACC will have a significant
impact on Calcasieu Parish and Southwest Louisiana.
LACC conducted an economic impact
study to determine the projected benefits for the
Lake Charles area and the state of Louisiana. Projected benefits of the project include:
Lake Charles
Area:
Annual: $68.8 million added in
wages/earnings.
Total: $653.4 million in economic
growth.
Louisiana (excluding Lake
Charles):
Annual: $33.3 million added in
wages/earnings.
Total: $867 million in economic
growth.
